- Coach Katerina walked straight over to me, looking me up and down just like she had the first time she had met me. This time though I could see a flicker of happiness in her eyes, or at least something that wasn't disapproval. This was surprising, but I was comforted by the change in her usually cold gaze. After assessing me for a moment the head coach looked up into my eyes.
- "You're back. Good. I think I like you." She stated brusquely.
- And then without saying another word she turned to the team. I was left with only the feeling that something remarkable had just happened, especially with the way the cheerleaders looked shocked that the head coach had approved of my repeated presence. Turning towards Tori I saw her give me a huge thumbs up, reaffirming that it was a very good sign that Coach Katerina had spoken with me. I just let out a relieved sigh, happy not to have to struggle with my direct supervisor.
